What is a goliath bet?
A Goliath is a type of multiple bet that can be placed when exactly eight outcomes have been added to your betslip. It comprises two-hundred and forty seven bets in total, being made up of 28 doubles, 56 trebles, 70 four-fold combinations, 56 five-fold combinations, 28 six-fold combinations, 8 seven-fold combinations and 1 eight-fold combination. Because of this, your chosen stake will be multiplied by 247 to cover the overall cost of the bet. At least two outcomes must be settled as a winner on a Goliath bet to receive a return.
Example of a goliath bet
To place a Goliath bet, you must first choose eight outcomes from sporting events found at Unibet. This can be from a mixture of different sports and markets, but not from the same event. An example could be:
- Manchester City to beat Chelsea (odds: 1.90)
- Arsenal to beat Newcastle (odds: 2.00)
- Leeds to beat Aston Villa (odds: 2.30)
- Manchester United vs Wolves Over 2.5 Goals (odds: 2.10)
- Liverpool vs Brighton Over 2.5 Goals (odds: 1.80)
- Crystal Palace vs Tottenham Under 2.5 Goals (odds: 2.00)
- Casper Ruud to beat Carlos Alcaraz (odds 2.60)
- Daniil Medvedev to beat Nick Kyrgios (odds: 2.10)
Enter your desired stake into the Goliath box in your betslip. This will be multiplied automatically by 247 to give the final outlay, i.e. a €0.10 input will result in a €24.70 bet.
The lowest payout possible would come if only outcomes number 1 and 5 were to win, resulting in a return of €0.34. This is calculated as (1.90 x 1.80) x €0.10.
However, if all eight outcomes are successful, the winnings would equate to €807.28 with each component of the bet combined. The total profit here would be €782.58.
Should just one result let you down, the returns would still put you in profit but would be reduced. For example, if only outcome 8 were to lose, this would give a return of €259.42 which leaves us with a total profit of €234.72.
Pros and cons of a goliath bet
Goliath bets are the multiple with the most number of mixed betting lines possible. This gives you plenty of consolation should some of your picks not be successful. However, as we can see from the returns for just two correct selections, you would lose significantly upon this outcome. Goliath bets are therefore best placed with smaller stakes per line if you are betting on high odds markets – this would help guarantee an impressive return even if just two or three selections win.

How to use the bet calculator
The Unibet Betting Odds Calculator makes it incredibly easy to instantly view the returns of your selected bet type and stake. You can also easily change the odds display from fractional to decimal in the top right corner of the page, as per your preference.
To begin, first you must decide which type of bet you are looking to place. The Unibet Calculator ranges from simple doubles, trebles and combinations through to more advanced Trixies, Yankees, Heinz and Lucky 63 multiples, etc.
For example, if you select a ‘Goliath’ multiple bet, this will generate eight blank selections that make up a Goliath bet. You must now enter the odds of each of your eight picks manually, followed by the stake per line.
By pressing ‘Calculate Now’ this will display the total stake required to place the bet, along with the Total Return and Total Profit. Another great tool is that you can easily switch each selection from being a Winner into a Lost or Void outcome. Your overall returns will be adjusting automatically after calculating the returns again. This is a great way of visualising how your bet will perform should one or more selections not be successful.
Additional betting considerations
For horse racing gamblers in particular, the Unibet Betting Odds Calculator includes the provision for Each Way betting. By selecting this, the fields will now include an option for you to adjust the Place odds (as displayed on the race betting page itself) and thus instantly calculate the returns if your horse were to finish in the applicable place positions.
Another provision is that of Rule 4 deductions. This is implemented in a horse race if a participant is withdrawn after you have placed your bet – therefore adjusting the odds. Depending on the horse that has been withdrawn, you can adjust the deduction manually by selecting either 5% to 20% per Euro bet. Finally, you can also adjust the outcome to that of a Dead Heat should multiple horses cross the finish line at exactly the same time.
